Mount Rainier

The mighty Tahoma, mother of water. "The Mountain". Also, one of my favorite areas. This area is so gorgeous in every season, you really can't go wrong unless you get socked in. Hah. Of course, the National Park is here, but also the Clearwater Wilderness, Norse Peak Wilderness, Tatoosh Wilderness, and the William Douglas Wilderness as well.

Fun Fact: The North Cascades has more glaciers than any of the U.S. parks, except for Alaska. Totaling over 300!

Where to visit: Paradise and Sunrise are the go tos and worth the visit. Also, make your way over Chinook Pass when it is open. Such a gorgeous drive and some pretty wonderful hikes. Weekdays and the off-season are your friends here.

You can find camping, hiking, and National Park info below. Backpacking is unreal in this area, but a Wilderness Permit is required.
